2013-14 Upper Deck Black Basketball marks the return of the high-end brand as a standalone product.
While it hasn't disappeared, in recent years it has been used as an insert in Upper Deck Exquisite products.
Boxes of the NCAA-licensed product hold just two packs but they deliver four total autographs.
Most of these signed cards use dark backdrops in combination with gold and silver signatures.
The look was a lot more distinct back when Upper Deck was the only company making black autograph cards.
It's still striking, nonetheless. Basic UD Black Signatures come with one (#/75 or less),
two (#/15) and three (#/10) autographs. UD Black Logo Signatures (#/40)
have a manufactured logo patch embedded into the card with the autograph underneath.
The set has separate Rookie Lustrous Signatures and Legendary Lustrous Signatures (#/25).
Both sets use PETG, a plastic-based stock. Rookies come in two tiers numbered to 199 and 99.
Both tiers have parallel versions numbered to 25 and 1. Legendary Lustrous cards are numbered to 25 with parallels limited to 5 and 1.
New to 2013-14 Upper Deck Black Basketball are Arena Art Signatures. Numbered to 65 or less,
these book cards fold out to show a small image of the player and an autograph on one side next to a large image
of an arena they called home. UD Black 9 Signatures (#/4) is another book card. As the name suggests,
these cards have nine autographs on them.
Other autographs include inscribed Bio Scripts (#/10 or less), Scenes Signatures (#/35 or less), Black Chalk Signatures (#/40 or less)
and Old School Signatures (#/75 or less). There are also Jordan Brand Classic Dual, Triple and Quad Signatures.
But it's not all ink. All of the cards in the 2013-14 Upper Deck Black Basketball base set are numbered to 175.
They also have Silver (#/10) and Gold (1/1) parallels.
