https://blog.paniniamerica.net/panini-a ... l-preview/
It’s not like Panini America’s upcoming 2016-17 Preferred Product needs a massive development
like Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller returning his autographs to NBA trading cards for the first time in a decade
to generate huge demand. As it has been since the Preferred product first debuted in 2011, collector interest in the product
is strong to quite strong thanks to a virtually unrivaled mix of unique content that includes the industry’s most creative booklets,
to-die-for die-cuts and loaded autograph and memorabilia content.
Of course, adding an elusive Hall of Famer like Miller to the mix only sweetens the Preferred proposition.
Set to arrive in late August, each four-card box of the all-thriller,
no-filler 2016-17 Panini Preferred will deliver two autographs and two memorabilia cards.
The highlights of the product are many and include . . .
- On-card autographs of NBA rookies, veterans and legends.
- Preferred Silhouettes have become one of the premiere autograph/memorabilia combo cards in the hobby.
- They return better than ever, bolstered immensely by the addition of Miller.

Collectors have come to love the booklet card in recent years and hoops enthusiasts will soon discover that there
is no better place to find them than the upcoming release of 2016-17 Panini Preferred.
Scheduled to be a late-August release, each box of Preferred will be loaded up with two hard-signed autographs along
with a pair of the coveted booklet cards.
Essentially, there are two packs inside those boxes and they should have one of each type of card inside.
The season may officially be over but more NBA products are still rolling out, including 2016-17 Panini Preferred.
Only about the hits, Preferred is filled with just autographs and memorabilia booklets.
Matching the 2015-16 set, collectors can count of two of each in every hobby box.
Autograph Cards
On-card autographs are a major component of 2016-17 Panini Preferred
and will feature an excellent mix of rookies, veterans, and legends
including the first certified autograph cards of former Indiana Pacers star Reggie Miller that the hobby has seen in over a decade.
Preferred Silhouettes combine an autograph with a large piece of memorabilia as always
and Rookie Silhouettes are all about the freshman class that just finished its first season in the NBA.
There are Prime versions to be pulled for both.
The Preferred brand also gives a nod to the old Pacific Trading Cards brands every year as well. Crown Royale
and Panini’s Choice are a great throwback to the days when inserts and die-cuts were kings of the hobby,
but with the additional bonus of being signed.
Technically the base set, the 2016-17 Panini Preferred checklist consists of multiple signed inserts, each with a distinct look and on-card signatures.
Falling two per box, this includes intricately die-cut Crown Royale Autographs, triangular Panini's Choice Autographs
and the popular Silhouettes Autograph Relics for current stars, past greats and future talent.
The Silhouettes insert line also has low-numbered Prime versions.
Among the signers of note, Hall of Famer Reggie Miller has his first pack-pulled NBA autographs
in over a decade.
2016-17 Panini Preferred Relic Booklets
The other half of the equation in 2016-17 Panini Preferred is the various memorabilia book cards.
Also dropping two per box, the options include horizontal booklets, vertical booklets and even tri-fold editions.
Standouts include the NBA Finals 2016 book cards that logically deal with gear worn
in the championship matchup between the Cavs and the Warriors.
In addition, Rookie Playbooks opts for the first-year players while VS One-on-One takes a matchup-style approach
with two different player relics on one large booklet.
Other book sets include Crazy Eights, Stat Line and Trending Upward.
Most of the 2016-17 Panini Preferred booklet cards include base, Prime and Super Prime versions.

and patch pieces that were worn during Game 2 the epic showdown between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

the latter of which will have jumbo patches which are truly awe-inspiring.
Rookie Booklets are all about the best first-year talents from 2016-17
and the Prime version will be a piece worthy of showing off.
Vs 1 on 1 takes a game action shot and delivers memorabilia from the depicted players
with a Prime parallel to chase down, of course.
